Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a secure way to transfer files between your local machine and a remote server. Part 1: WinSCP
Installing WinSCP:
Download WinSCP: Visit the WinSCP website and download the latest version of WinSCP for your operating system.
Install WinSCP: Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install WinSCP on your computer.
Setting Up WinSCP:
Launch WinSCP: After installation, open WinSCP.
Enter Connection Details:
- Host Name: Enter the hostname or IP address of your server.
- Port Number: Usually, SFTP uses port 22. If your server uses a different port, enter it here.
- Username and Password: Enter your SFTP username and password provided by the Pterodactyl Game Panel.
Save Session: To save your settings for future use, click "Save" and enter a session name. Click "OK" to save.
Connect: Click the "Login" button to connect to your SFTP server. If it's your first time connecting, you may be asked to verify the server's fingerprint.
Part 2: FileZilla
Installing FileZilla:
Download FileZilla: Visit the FileZilla website and download the latest version of FileZilla for your operating system.
Install FileZilla: Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install FileZilla on your computer.
Setting Up FileZilla:
Launch FileZilla: After installation, open FileZilla.
Enter Connection Details:
- Host: Enter the hostname or IP address of your server.
- Port: Usually, SFTP uses port 22. If your server uses a different port, enter it here.
- Protocol: Select "SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol."
- Username and Password: Enter your SFTP username and password provided by the Pterodactyl Game Panel.
Save Session: To save your settings for future use, click "File" > "Site Manager." Click "New Site," give it a name, and enter your connection details. Click "Connect" to save.
Connect: Select your saved site from the FileZilla Site Manager, then click "Connect" to establish an SFTP connection.
Obtaining Login Details from Pterodactyl Game Panel:
Log in to Pterodactyl: Access your Pterodactyl Game Panel using your web browser.
Navigate to Your Server: Select the specific game server you want to access.
Access SFTP Details: Look for the Settings section in your server's dashboard. Here, you will find the necessary login details, including the server hostname or IP, port, username, and password.
